Day 3 : Hari ni kami explore pulak the surrounding alps villages in Bernese Oberland. Overall, memang cantik and the view is really breathtakingly beautiful. Our first detination is Wengen, a small and quaint town but more touristy and developed than Lauterbrunnen.
From there, we took a 5-min cable car ride to Mannlichen. The area was covered with snow. Ada hiking track, children's playground, indoor picnic area, a hotel and restaurant. For those interested to go for winter sport in Grindelwald, there is a gondola ride from Mannlichen to take you there.
Then, kami turun balik ke Lauterbrunnen and took another cable ride to Murren. Murren is a car-free village. So, the area is free from pollution, clean and undeniably beautiful.

Day 2: Destinasi yg memang ditunggu-tunggu, ke puncak Europe, Jungfraujoch, 3600 meters above sea level. From Lauterbrunnen, we rode on a cogwheel train to Klein Scheidegg before continuing the journey to Jungfraujoch. Di Lauterbrunnen and on the way up, salji dah mula turun dan semakin lebat bila sampai ke Wengen. Along the way, the train stopped for a few minutes at Eigerwand and Eismeer.

Alhamdulillah, when we reached the top, it was sunny but still very, very cold and windy. The temp was -15°C. Despite the coldness, the trip was really worthwhile and most memorable !

Day 1 (Part 1): Zurich - Luzern - Lauterbrunnen

Bertolak dari Heathrow ke Zurich on BA pukul 7:50 am dan arrive Zurich around 10:30 am local time. Ok gak naik BA. October is an off season for travelling in Switzerland, so, flight ni tak busy sangat.. Siap boleh tukar-tukar seat lagi .......
Sampai Zurich airport [Flughafen Zurich], kami terus beli tiket... mula2 Fadil queue di tiket counter, but soon we were told to buy the half fare card and family card from Swiss Travel System Office...

The pics from left : St. Peter, The Grossmünster and Fraumünster abbey.

At Zurich, we walked along the exclusive and expensive shops street, Bahnhofstrasse (confirm tak shopping punya) and along Limmat River in the old city, Altstadt. In Altstadt, one of the historical landmark in Zurich is St. Peter, with the largest clock face in Europe. After a couple of hours in Zurich, we rushed to catch a scenic train ride to Luzern, another must see city....

Winter Trip 2006 Day 2 : Royal Mile dalam Kabus.....

Misty Royal Mile

The misty royal mile. sigh....Frustrating sugguh.. the next day bila nak keluar nak explore Edinburgh city, cuacanya memeng tak memberangsangkan langsung. Berkabus.. teringat jerebu kat Malaysia.... but anyhow, kena juga redah, dapat jugak tengok building lama walaupun samar-samar dengan low vision distance....
Quote:
Probably Edinburgh's oldest street, The Royal Mile connects Edinburgh Castle with the Palace of Holyrood House.

Royal Mile ni sebenarnya is not just a mile as reflected in its name, it is actually more than a mile by 107 yards. Along the Royal Mile ada kedai-kedai, restoran and historical buildings macam St. Giles Cathederal and of course, the Edinburgh Castle (pics below). Masa sampai di Edinburgh Castle tu , memang berkabus teruk, so, gambar pun tak berapa clear.

Lepas berjalan pi solat di Edinburgh Mosque dan makan-makan di restorannya. Sedap dan harga pun reasonable... dah lapar kan...
